Today, the European project ‘Construye2030plus’ was presented at the UGT FICA headquarters to the Territorial Secretariats of the Construction Sector and the area coordinators.
Esther Rodríguez, project coordinator at the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, outlined the main pillars of this initiative, which focuses on training and certification in micro-competences to drive the green transition in the construction industry.
The project aims to renew training in the construction sector through micro-competences: units of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that can be learned and assessed separately, linked to the National Catalogue of Professional Standards, and oriented towards specific tasks applicable in the workplace.

Among the main results of the project are:
- The creation of micro-competence maps in key activities for building energy efficiency: thermal insulation, window installation, and heat pump installation.
- The design of digital resources and the development of a web platform that will allow workers to know their level of knowledge of the identified micro-competences, and career advisors to recommend personalised professional pathways within the sector.
- The preparation of institutions and social agents regarding the updates in the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
Furthermore, the project includes a Training Route consisting of a bus that will travel to various cities offering face-to-face training for operatives, installers, and site managers. This format seeks to bring training closer to workplaces and facilitate work-learning balance.
During the meeting, participants shared their suggestions for developing the Training Route, such as including unemployed workers or offering alternative options for areas where the bus will not visit. They also emphasised the importance of strengthening training in provincial agreements and including occupational risk prevention adapted to new materials and technologies in the sector.
