‘Construye 2020plus’ recognised by UNESCO-UNEVOC as an Innovation and Learning Practice in ‘Green’ Vocational Education and Training

The project ‘Construye 2020plus’ has been recognised by UNESCO-UNEVOC as an Innovation and Learning Practice in ‘Green’ Vocational Education and Training. This recognition was awarded by the Building and Construction Expert Group of the BILT project (Bridging Innovation and Learning in TVET) of UNESCO-UNEVOC, which highlights initiatives contributing to the integration of green skills and new technologies in VET.

This initiative was characterised by integrating green and digital competencies into vocational training in the construction sector to help transform it into a more sustainable and energy-efficient sector, developing tools such as the ‘Green Tag’ certification system and the qualification of Energy Auditor.

Following the completion of ‘Construye 2020plus‘, work continued in Spain towards this goal through initiatives such as ‘Construye 2030‘ and the current ‘Construye 2030plus‘, the fifth BUILD UP Skills initiative in the country. These initiatives have continued to promote training and skills development in the sector with a renewed focus on the green economy and digitalisation.

‘Construye 2030plus’ maintains and expands the legacy of the BUILD UP Skills initiatives, advancing professional development and access to accredited training to meet the current challenges of the sustainable construction industry in Spain and Europe.
