Construye 2030plus is the fifth nationally developed project under the BUILD UP Skills initiative. It is co-funded by the LIFE Clean Energy Transition programme of the European Commission and is currently managed by the Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).
The European Commission launched the BUILD UP Skills initiative in 2011 to support the updating and upgrading of skills of workers in the construction sector, especially those with basic and intermediate skills, to enable them to respond to the new labour market requirements related to nearly zero energy buildings and the green transition.
It contributes directly to the EU Pact for Skills, with a particular focus on the agreement for the construction sector, signed by the social partners in 2022. This pact aims to improve and upgrade the training of at least 25% of people working in construction (3 million) by 2027.
Every year, BUILD UP Skills projects meet in Brussels to exchange experiences and lessons learned.
