The new State Housing Plan 2026-2030 highlights one of the sector’s major challenges: increasing the supply of affordable housing, speeding up renovation work and strengthening protection for the most vulnerable households. These priorities are closely linked to the objectives of the Construye 2030plus project, which aims to improve the training of construction workers so they can respond to the demands of the green transition and the market’s new needs.

The Plan, developed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, sets out measures to expand the housing stock, bring empty homes back into use, encourage renovation and improve access to housing. According to information released by the Ministry, the programme provides for an investment of 7 billion euros and gives priority to affordable housing, renovation and social protection.

From the construction sector’s perspective, this new framework reinforces the need for qualified professionals in key areas such as thermal insulation, window installation, heat pumps, energy-efficient renovation and the application of more efficient construction solutions. These are some of the fields on which the Construye 2030plus project focuses in order to support the sector’s transformation and contribute to European climate goals.
