On 11 and 12 June, the headquarters of Fundación Laboral de la Construcción hosted the fourth partner meeting of the Construye 2030plus project, with the participation of the organisations that make up the consortium. Vinicius Valente, project adviser at the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) of the European Commission, also attended the meeting, travelling from Brussels to underline the importance of promoting green growth and a clean industry in Europe.

During the meeting, the partners reviewed the current status of the project and shared the main progress achieved to date, as well as the next steps and the joint planning of the communication activities to be rolled out after the summer.

Project progress

Alongside the rest of the initiative’s results, the consortium addressed the development of the self-assessment system for micro-skills, which enables construction professionals to have their learning recognised through a self-assessment app.

In the context of the project, a micro-skill is understood as a specific unit of knowledge, skills, and attitudes focused on a very concrete task linked to a construction activity, which can be acquired independently.

Progress was also made on the content to be included in the free, open online course on the new European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, aimed at the sector as a whole and particularly at social stakeholders and public authorities. In parallel, work continued on planning the Construye 2030plus Route, a training initiative scheduled for September and October 2026 that will visit 10 Spanish cities to bring training in thermal insulation, window installation and heat pumps closer to construction workers.
