The partners of the ‘Construye 2030plus’ project, coordinated by Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, met on 18 June at the facilities of the Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Science of the CSIC (Spanish National Research Counci) to advance the main objective of: “improving the training and certification of key micro-competences for the ecological transition of the sector”.

The ‘Construye 2030plus’ consortium, made up of highly relevant entities within the national construction industry and in the fields of employment, research, and training, made progress in developing the outcomes of this fifth BUILD UP Skills initiative:

  • Micro-competence maps related to energy efficiency, essential for identifying specific training needs within the sector.
  • A self-assessment app that will allow workers to evaluate the micro-competences acquired after training activities.
  • Innovative teaching resources focused on thermal insulation, window installation, and heat pumps, as well as the use of sustainable construction materials.
  • An online course (MOOC format) on the new European Directive on Energy Performance of Buildings, aimed at technicians, public administrations, companies, and social stakeholders.
  • Development of a training route across ten Spanish cities, through a Skills-Bus that will visit construction sites, facilitating access to training without the need to travel to educational centres.
  • Training activities for trainers who will take part in the Skills-Bus route.
  • Communication, awareness-raising and stakeholder engagement strategies targeting key actors within the sector.
