The fifth BUILD UP Skills initiative begins in Spain: the ‘Construye 2030plus’ project

On 24 October, we held the launch meeting of the European project ‘Construye 2030plus’, aimed at promoting training in micro-skills for the green transition of the construction sector. This initiative, coordinated by the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, is the fifth national BUILD UP Skills project and is co-funded by the LIFE Programme under the Clean Energy Transition subprogramme.

With the ‘Construye 2030plus’ project, the partners aim to develop tailored training and certification so that professionals acquire the necessary qualifications to effectively contribute to the European Union’s climate goals.

A strong consortium for an effective transition

Over the course of more than two years, the consortium -made up of leading sectoral and training entities- will work closely together to achieve the project’s outcomes. The consortium includes: Confederación Nacional de la Construcción (CNC), CCOO del HabitatUGT FICA, Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences (IETcc) of the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC), the National Association of Ceramic and Construction Material Distributors (Asociación Nacional de Distribuidores de Cerámica y Material de Construcción, ANDIMAC), and the State Foundation for Employment Training (Fundación Estatal para la Formación en el Empleo, Fundae), led by Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, which is coordinating the BUILD UP Skills initiatives for the fifth time.

Together, they will update the sector’s training framework in line with major European strategies such as the European Green Deal, the Renovation Wave, and the decarbonisation strategies for 2030 and 2050.
