FLC and UGT FICA promote skills development in the construction sector during the Training Secretaries’ meeting

During the meeting of the Training Secretaries of UGT FICA, the progress of the Construye 2030plus project was presented. Co-funded by the LIFE Programme, this initiative aims to strengthen professional skills within the construction sector.

At the event, Nuria Pérez Aguado, Secretary for Training and Trade Union Qualification at UGT FICA, and Esther Rodríguez Arévalo, International Projects Officer at Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, highlighted the importance of fostering a skilled workforce that contributes to the sustainable and competitive growth of the industry.

Both speakers emphasised the need to adapt training programmes to the new challenges of the green and digital transition, while strengthening cooperation between social partners and training institutions.

In addition to Construye 2030plus, the European project Construction Blueprint 2 was also presented. This initiative focuses on promoting new training and upskilling strategies to address current demands in digitalisation, energy efficiency, sustainability, and the sector’s attractiveness. Its goal is to enhance workforce training through an innovative vocational training programme, the update of the Skills Observatory, and the development of a European qualifications strategy for the construction industry.
